On March 14, 2026, Bloody Mary’s Box proudly partnered with Rapid Sport Entertainment for the second edition of the PH City Women Run. The event brought together over 150 women in an atmosphere filled with energy, movement, and community.
With multiple vendors present, Bloody Mary’s Box joined in not just to showcase our menstrual care products, but to engage in meaningful conversations around menstrual health and hygiene. We also highlighted alternative menstrual care options beyond disposable pads, which remain the most common choice for many women in Nigeria.
Meaningful Conversations & Curiosity
One of the most rewarding parts of the day was the genuine curiosity from attendees. Many women stopped by our stand to ask questions, share their experiences, and learn about options like menstrual cups and other sustainable products.
These conversations mattered. They reflected a growing openness among women to explore better, more comfortable, and more sustainable menstrual care solutions. We were especially excited to see several women make the switch, purchasing menstrual cups and trying new products they hadn’t used before.
A Standout Moment
A particularly memorable moment captured exactly why we do this work.
One attendee unexpectedly started her period at the event and wasn’t wearing underwear, which made using a pad difficult. She approached us asking for disposable pants, which we didn’t have at the time. Instead, we introduced her to the menstrual cup, guided her through how to use it, and encouraged her to try it.
She did and returned shortly after, excited and relieved, sharing how comfortable and effective it was.
Even more powerful was what happened next: while she shared her experience, other women nearby who had been undecided about purchasing a menstrual cup listened. Her real-time testimony helped them make the decision to buy. It was a powerful reminder that sometimes, the most impactful advocacy comes from shared, lived experiences.
A Day Well Spent
The event also featured exciting prizes worth over ₦700,000 awarded to participants, adding to the vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.
We’re grateful to the organizers for their hospitality, including the thoughtful snacks provided to our team and for creating a platform that centers women’s health, wellness, and empowerment.
Looking Ahead
The PH City Women Run 2026 was more than just an event for us, it was an opportunity to educate, connect, and empower. We left feeling inspired by the openness and enthusiasm of the women we met.
We’re already looking forward to the next edition in 2027 and hope to return, bigger and better. And to future partners and sponsors: we’d love to have you join us in continuing this important work.
